WHY IS EDUCATION SO IMPORTANT?

As Mandela said and as we learnt yesterday, education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world. That is the reason why we want to become teachers. Our desire is to make a difference through education. We know it sometimes will be hard and difficult. However, it is one of the most rewarding professions. In addition, education facilitates the acquisition of certain skills and abilities. It also provides the necessary knowledge to be part of the society. Although, it begins at school, education is related to manners, values and healthy habits too. Teachers provide knowledge, but they are also guides and behaviour models.

People obtain certain advantages through education. First, they are more prepared to get a job because they have acquired some abilities. Secondly, they develop critical thinking, a way to think independently taking into account different aspects and without taking everything for granted. Thirdly, education aims at supplying both good citizens and human beings. Fourthly, they can promote progress and improvement, Fifthly, they learn how to socialise and develop healthy relationships.

Our duties as teachers are to try our best everyday, love our job, be prepared to receive different levels and backgrounds, be understanding and caring and promise to improve our knowledge and abilities each day.

As a conclusion, education facilitates progress both socially and economically. Communication and technology have improved as a consequence of higher education standards. Our progress as a nation depends on education too. At the end, everything relies on education. It is like the light that guides our lives. 

To summarise, we want to apply one of the most famous quotes of Aristotle at school: educating the mind without educating the heart is not education at all.
